When I play Shadow Assassin from my trash, does it enter ready off its own copy?

No. Playing Shadow Assassin from your trash moves it onto the chain first,[354][419.1] so by the time it enters, it's no longer in your trash. It enters ready only if a different copy of it is still there.

Consuming Curse and Shadowblade Lurker work the same way.
